CASE STUDY
INCLUSIVE LMI WEBSITE
Our inclusive LMI website, Your Futures, has been relaunched to support students as they explore different career pathways in an inclusive format.
AIMS
Our local inclusive LMI website is for students with communication/interaction or cognitive and learning difficulties, who are less likely to take GCSEs or Level 2 qualifications. These pupils will face unique challenges as they progress from school to further learning and the workplace.
This platform was created to ensure young people educated in SEND schools and colleges, or those who have an EHCP, can access careers information relevant to their needs. Every SEND student and their parents/carers/ families should have access to good quality information about future study options, labour market opportunities and the Local Offer. The West Sussex, Brighton and Hove Your Futures website presents this information in an accessible and easy format. This year, we added UserWay a web accessibility widget, which provides tools and features to address various accessibility issues, including those related to vision, motor skills, and cognitive impairments.
OUTCOMES
- Benchmark 2 – Learning from career and labour market information supports schools and colleges to achieve this Benchmark.
- Mainstream schools fed back that this will be useful for their early years to use.
- The incorporation of the UserWay feature has made it even more accessible for even more students
- The website has been added to the West Sussex Local Offer website, so even more people can access it.
