CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION
In March 2025, construction students from Brighton Aldridge Community College (BACA) were hosted by Mackley at the Madeira Terrace Restoration Project in Brighton. The ‘Open Doors’ experience was an opportunity for the students to explore the works on this iconic seafront landmark, while learning about careers in construction and engineering.
OUTCOMES
- GUIDED SITE TOUR: Students were taken around the site to discover the complexities and challenges of large-scale heritage restoration.
- CAREER INSIGHTS: Students met with Mackley’s graduate apprentices and HR Training Co-ordinator, who shared information about careers pathways.
- REAL-WORLD PERSPECTIVES: Students gained valuable information about what it is like to work in engineering and construction.
